DoubleHelix is a Certification Body (CB) for the following forest management and
Chain of Custody standards:
The CertiSource Standard for Verified Legal Timber has been designed to provide additional assurance of legal compliance for Indonesian wood products, when basic assurances under the mandatory Indonesian SVLK system are not good enough. With CertiSource you get:
Consignment-based verification that provides traceability back to a certified forest of origin for every shipment.
Confirmation that every entity (forests, sawmills and traders) adheres to strict legal, social and environmental criteria.
Flexible, pay-as-you go pricing makes certification affordable even at smaller scale.
The CertiSource Standard goes beyond basic legal requirements and puts forest concessions and sawmills on the road to sustainable forest management.
For the provision of CertiSource certification services, DoubleHelix is accredited to ISO/IEC 17065:2012 by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).
Accreditation no.: Z4460410SS.

CertiSource Public Registers
These registers present a list of Forest Management Units, sawmills and other supply chain entities certified under the CertiSource system, together with their current status (valid, suspended or expired). In addition, each batch of timber verified under the system is listed, against which buyers and consumers can cross-reference product sold in the market to authenticate certification claims.
All registers are updated monthly and can be accessed using the buttons below.

Myanmar Timber Legality
Assurance System (MTLAS)
MTLAS is the first national timber legality verification system for Myanmar, developed by the Myanmar Forest Certification Committee.
It is the first step towards a Sustainable Forest Management programme in
Myanmar, supported by stakeholders from government, civil society, and industry.
The MTLAS Standard covers the following principles:
i) rights to harvest;
ii) forest operations;
iii) payment of taxes and royalties;
iv) other user's rights;
v) mill operations;
vi) trade and customs.
The Government of Myanmar has assigned the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) as the national accreditation body of Myanmar. At this time, DRI is undergoing preparation to offer accreditation services. Until accreditation is offered by DRI, companies wishing to offer certification services must register with MFCC. Registered Certification Bodies are the only organisations authorised to conduct comprehensive forest and supply chain audits against the MTLAS Standard.

Optional DNA testing
DoubleHelix provides optional DNA testing of teak timber to authenticate documented claims of origin. This demonstrates an additional measure of due diligence appreciated by European, US and Australian regulatory enforcement agencies.
MTLAS Public Registers
MFCC maintains a public register of all MTLAS certificates. Please visit: www.myanmarforestcertification.org/certificates/ or click below.
Benefits of certification
Improved access to high value markets and buyers. If you are an exporter of wood products, certification can provide a competitive advantage to access markets including the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Becoming certified is affordable and will help improve your business processes as well as your marketing.
For buyers, unrivalled assurance of legality and confidence that your products meet enhanced social and environmental standards.
Be part of the movement to support and promote responsible forestry and timber supply chains.
At DoubleHelix, our goal is to secure the timber supply chain through the application of novel methods, including scientific testing. The application of DNA testing within the CertiSource system has changed significantly as it has developed over the years. As change continues apace at DoubleHelix, we would like to take this opportunity to correct potential misconceptions that have arisen during the rapid growth and expansion of both DoubleHelix and CertiSource.
